AMERICA in 2 weeks

Where are Kate and Tom?

How did they get so big and my hair matches the carpet...

If you are looking at this, I was in MN and looked tired.  I was, plus confused for what seems like too long a time.  I had wonderful conversations with many of you but not enough time with most. The tasks all got done, someone else is in the house, house junk is rearranged again.  I had time with my mom but not enough, time with my kids, but not enough, and times back in New Ulm but not enough.                                                    When I returned to Uganda for our 32 Anniversary Tom and I went to a nice hotel with bad food at the source of the Nile and we just sat, talked and read for 2 days and then traveled home which takes 1 day.  Did not miss the Uganda traveling part while in America, but I did miss Uganda. Tom and I have signed up to extend for another 8 months having us leave in June of 2014.
I have been home 1 week now and the students at the school are on break until mid July so I have caught up on the never ending Peace Corps paperwork.  I got a call Tuesday evening and was asked if I wanted to be considered for the Peace Corps Global Health Partnership (http://www.peacecorps.gov/resources/media/press/1986/)  that is being launched in Uganda, Malawi, Tanzania, in July.  It has been in the works since last year and staff are now ready to come in country.  Why me and why now?  One of the nurses who was coming to Uganda dropped out and it is crunch time. Everyone coming has lots of lettersBS, MS, MD, PhD, MSN, after their  name and I have AA in nursing.  They are from academia I am from Miles Community College, Miles City, Montana with 32 years experience and 2 years in Uganda and wanting to extend.   HOW GOD WORKS Looks like it's going to be a go and I make up the 12 person on the team.  Also, looks like I will be back in DC July 1 to meet the others coming to Africa.  Am I flattered? Yes, am I scared, Yes, do I think I am prepared? NO, do I know what exactly I am getting into? NO, but I believe I have a better idea then the others do about reality's of health care here, unless they have worked in similar circumstances. I also believe that it's not about the job but about who God wants to know Him, in Lira where we have to move to.  Tom will go to Lira to find a job while I am in DC and he seems pretty excited about that.  He is working on his project here and it is going well.  (they aren't out of $ yet)
Please Pray for us that we are hearing and following the right voice and to be the people we have been called to be.  That's the update for now. Now I have to go get some medical info so we don't have to travel to Kampala again for a medical exam. Oh I hate the bus...Love to you all, and thank you for making my time in America so nice.  Next time I come to MN I hope it will be for longer........... Marc
